I seriously think it's think this thread should be closed. Until Canon announces officially, let's go out to shoot more rather than sit here speculating on things which never exist in the first place. Seeing is believing. Predicting is another thing. If the intention of buying cameras is to reduce loss, then it's not photography anymore.

But i suppose i'll just get the 5D cos even if the II comes out, price will still be sky high and i've only a limited budget.

If we take the gear-lust out of our heads, the present 5D does pretty much what we need for at least the foreseeable future. True, I had my criticisms of the 5D. But heck, it still takes great pictures.

I just need a FF DSLR. If i'm into equipment, my 10D would have long gone. Yes the 5D has this mirror drop out issue but if it's under warranty, replacement is free.

Well i'll just get the 5D regardless of what, unless its successor is within sub-$4K price. The hotshoe whether black or chrome is no issue to me. My 10D's one only faded a bit but still mostly black.
