My sentiments exactly... Whatever new cams that are released doesn't make the 5D any less of a camera. It's just relative.

I still want a 5D MK II instead of the 1Ds MK II.

The 1Ds MK II has no live-view. And the images are spoilt by all the dirty dust spots.

 , live view, gd for macro

You'll be surprised, the sensor cleaning function doesn't guarantee that your sensor will be free from dust, even on the 1Ds mk III - happened to spot a few dust spots on the sensor of the 1Ds III before the shoot, tried the sensor cleaning function and dusts were still there. In the end, had to go back to the primitive way of the manual cleaning with blower.

Live view is a cool feature to have, and particularly useful for checking exposure when it comes to tricky backlit scenes. However, I can't imagine the drain on the 5D batt (assuming it's going to be the same as its big brother).

One function which I hope to see in the 5D II is the AF micro-adjustment feature. Yes, we can gripe/whine/bitch about Canon making their QC problem becoming our problem, but we do have to acknowledge that sometimes due to wear and tear and all, you might have lenses that are slightly back/front focus. I've calibrated every single lens that I own on the 1Ds3 and the adjustments varies from +4 to +14!

If 5D II is to have the AF micro-adjustment, I'll just look at it as Canon's move to allow us to get the best optical performance. Having sent few lenses and bodies back to Canon service centre to calibrate, I've come to conclusion that spending some time to calibrate it your own is still more worthwhile, at least I know for sure that the lenses are behaving properly.

yeah. read from an article that the sensor cleaning is pretty useless to dust bunnies.

I agree that AF micro-adjustment feature would a good feature.
would appreciate if they can put in auto-iso too.

ha and take away the boliao print button:sweatsm:

If Canon has to bundle a s/w for deleting dust, it only speaks of the usefulness of the dust removal mechanism ...

I ONLY use the primative method ...

1000 years have passed and no news yet... why this thread ?

i think its meaningless anymore. why not just close it, and wait for results ?

:bsmilie::bsmilie: or just leave it open until the model is released and continued to discuss..

Another rumour for viewing pleasure.:)

5D MK2 on 22 May

Wah thanks! Great new features:

- Auto pilot mode - a sensor option that "sees" a great composition, i.e.camera takes great picture for you as you scan it with Live View without looking into the viewfinder

- Auto shutter – this feature pushes the shutter itself – so you don't have to

My photos will surely be better.
