Sure a not Bro?

Just went back from CSC at HF.
They did not offer 550D for this scheme... the offer only up to 500D!

Sad...

My earlier post has already say they are still not offering the 550D yet.

But I dunno how some already ordered it thru the scheme...

:dunno:

p.s. has anyone been to the IT shows before? do they offer special deals / prices?
IT show deals are usually at SRP. But they throw in more freebies to make it attractive.

:Later,

oops...

My question should be to Bro HBC.

fyi, i just popped by Funan to see what the deal was at the major stors (e.g. Harvey Norman and Challenger) and both say that they have not received physical shipment yet (but likely after the IT show) -- which is to say weekend at earliest, but by next week. I think they can only confirm the official website price and have not received any other package details.

My previous experience at the IT show is that (at least for Canon dSLRs) the prices remain pretty much the same. Most of the time, the stalls will sell at list price. Maybe they will throw in a few more freebies. Credit Card Installment, Extra SD card, tripod, etc....

For Canon, sometimes the have some special promos for extended warranty. The last one I went to, they gave away the 5D2 thumb drive and sold the 50mm f1.8 for $50 if you bought extended warranty....

If you really need the freebies, and take them into consideration in the pricing, you would think that you got a good discount when compared to cash-only deals from the regular shops.

If you are thinking you can buy a Canon camera for $950 nett when the list price is $1200, I think it is unlikely the IT show would provide this kind of deals. You may be better off going to the regular shops.

For other brands such as Olympus, I do notice they give better discounts from list price.

It confirmed, i called over the phone, i did not went down to ask. Somemore they called me back to confirm and also to remind me the admin charge when i change my earlier order 500d to 550d and also the price of 550d. Maybe i just change of model that is why they allow. I did not ask for direct option to 550d as i apply for this scheme almost 1.5mths back.

or 18-55 + 55-250???fainted..

body + 18-200 if it's available. =)

alternatively, yes i'd go for body + tamron 17-50 non-vc. tested and proven, solid track record. =P
