I will see their RRP... if it is above 500D kit 1 launch price, I will bet on 2000D or wait for Digic V 600D. Hopefully Digic V allows lightning fast live view focusing speed like sony, then it is really Win if they even add articulated screen. If launching at IT show, buy lor...

1 year... now xxxD is every 12 months instead of every 18 months last time during 300/350/400D era. Still schooling, I can fulfill my video with my S5 IS and continue shooting with my 350D. I am not a megapixel person btu I pixel peep. lolx:bsmilie::bsmilie: 550D not on sale in SG yet got people waiting for 600D liaoThen again its probably like 6 months from now huh going by the trends

Based on their pattern, 600D will have new Digic processor and might solve rolling shutter in movie mode. Since Nikon has D5000 and they re-introduced articulated screen on G11, there might be a chance for articulated screens for DSLR, since Canon pretty emphasize on movie.
The Legria camcorders does not have this issue iirc.Rolling shutter is just how typical CMOS sensors operate, by taking a picture into it's sensor top down in a frame. So fast panning while taking the shot creates a wobble like effect. This is non-existent in CCD sensors since it captures light simultaneously across the frame.
So there, rolling shutter doesn't happen because of a slow or outdated processor. A new processor might bring in the possibility of a higher recording bit-rate, thereby resolving more detail.
Articulated screen are extremely useful if u take videos.Maybe I dun shoot macro much, I dun understand why everyone wants articulated screens. Usually such screens are smaller and is very low resolution.
I will prefer a high resolution screen which I will use to check my photo sharpness very often than articulated screens which I will use once in a very blue moon when taking shot in odd angle.
I may consider when articulated screen got same resolution as the new 550d's screen. But by then, resolution of normal screen will be even higher.
Price for twin kit - 18-55mm & 55-250 mm is $1871 as listed by http://www.ddelectronics.com.sg/
Differential from D7 is about $800-900 for same lense.
So is it worth getting 550D or 7D ?
