Retail prices are VERY tempting. Especially given I only want the body that I'll use with the Tamron 17-50 and Canon 10-22. Looks like an exceptionally good deal. I'm really glad I waited on this instead on jumping on the 500D.

Confirmed. 550D is under the scheme. Just ordered, i change my order from 500D to 550D. The price as usual 20.5% off from retail price.

Don't know when. Maybe will check again next week after the IT show. If overwhelming, then the wait will be long.

I was informed the stocks will be out for IT show first.
At least it is under the scheme and i can get a discounted price.

fyi, i just popped by Funan to see what the deal was at the major stors (e.g. Harvey Norman and Challenger) and both say that they have not received physical shipment yet (but likely after the IT show) -- which is to say weekend at earliest, but by next week. I think they can only confirm the official website price and have not received any other package details.

p.s. has anyone been to the IT shows before? do they offer special deals / prices?
