you should just google for this sorta thing... its way faster than waiting for a reponse

haha i'm also a noob so i might be wrong,

class 4 means write rate of 4 mb/s(min)
class 6 means write rate of 6mb/s(min)

canon recommends class 6 minimum for 500d optimal video recording.
personally i can't tell the difference when the guy at the shop showed me..

Just got my 500D today from a vivocity electrical store. Checked the Canon Centre there and was told they have a promotion on it with a camera bag and a free 8G sdhc card at $1464. So when I went to this electrical store and was offered at $1469 with 18-55mm EF-S kit lens, two 8G cards, one original battery (1000mh) and one third party compatible battery (1300mh), a nice lightweight tripod, a bag and a screen protector. So I got it

The Canon Centre told me the kit lens 18-200mm version is not available and on the way to Singapore in about two weeks' time. No price list from them at this point in time.

I upgraded to a 500D from my 1000D over the weekend, so far for me the biggest difference is the LCD screen(big and bright), 9 AF points instead of the 7 AF on the 1000D and better noise control at higher ISO.
