500D or 1000D

Hi all,

im planning to get my first canon dslr but was in a dilemma or which model to get...
500D or 1000D
hope to have some advises from past user from the both cam. thks!

500D. dont bother with 1000D.

specs wise 500D better of cos.

But the price is like, double the 1000D rite?

the price was like arnd 300 differ only...
but i heard 1000D have better noise reduction?

and 500D is better bcos of only the video record function? and of cos, better megapixel.
(which i dont really need as i don tink i be doing video)

i wanna compare them as in the photo quality... if both of them was about the same... i can save up that 300bucks and spend on somethin else...

hi just share around , 500D has spot metering , digic 4 , better noise reduction , higher mega pix (14 bit),9 af point, bigger and better lcd 920k dot . higher iso peformance .u have to weight what u wan try to get hands on both unit . if u can just go ahead with 500d no regrets .

If u are really going to get into photography, get a 500D. if u r not too serious and have more flexibility than a point & shoot, get a 1000D.

I got a 1000D, my dad got a 500D. For $300, there is a big difference in the picture quality and functions. if I could turn back time, i would have got a 500D. But it all depend on how much u want to take up the hobby.
