Hi to all,

I am a newbie in DSLR and considering to get one like the 450D. Understand from the posted threads, it is a good camera. I shoot a lot of photos with compact digital cameras but it can no longer give me the satisfaction of photo taking. I hate noisy cameras, how is the noise level for 450D? At which ISO will the noise be visible? Is there a multiple exposure mode?

May I know what differentiate the cameras between the entry-level (E.g. 450D) and higher grades like 40 / 50 D? Is it the image quality, noise level, colours and etc? As a newbie I think I can only differentiate with by the film speed, shutter speed, image size and mega pixels. Hope I am right...

My budget is between 1,200 - 1,400. Apart from 450D, is there other cameras that I can consider?

Someone pls advise me....

The 450D have one of the best noise control for it's price range... :)

Roughly any idea at what setting will the noise appear? Is there any other camera you will propose?

It have to depend on the scene condition... Based on my usage, even the highest ISO (1600) is quite usable.... :)

I do not understand why Canon produce a DSLR without spot metering :dunno::dunno::dunno:
.
300D
350D
400D
1000D

The 450D is a better camera than the the 400D but the 400D would be much nicer if it had "Spot metering" !

I just don't get their idea of excluding spot metering on the lower of their models.
Is it to try and get buyers to go a step higher in their purchase :dunno:

Cheers

An update on this quote I wrote some time back.

The answer (from a Canon Rep......) yes...Canon DO cripple the entry level DSLR in the form of spot metering....

So that those that wish for a Canon DSLR with spot metering will need to buy the next one up in the range.

Now THIS was what I was TOLD by a Canon rep that looks after our Canon camera orders.

Cheers :)

Nikon also crippled the D90 by not including phrase-AF in LV mode...
