Check wif all experts here 40D have a crop factor of 1.6 What does it mean heard from my friend that not suitable for lens with f2.8 or f2 n below or no point using them due to crop factor? How will it affect the picts? They say lens wif f2.8 below is only for full-frame like 5D etc....... please enlighten, still a newbie n learning!:embrass:

I'm having a problem... when I use the live preview mode, I've not problem taking photos in whichever settings, ie AV, TV, etc. But when switched live preview off, and only make use of the view finder, the shutter seems to be forever no matter what my settings are... Anyone encounter this problem? Is it some settings that I missed out? Please advise...

Oh, ignore that statement... Basically I was trying to say that the shot seemingly takes forever to be completed... basically a long delay, and then nothing happens. The shot was not captured after the delay too.

I just bought the camera from TCW this afternoon. And when I tried at home in the evening, I've encountered the problem of not being able to take any photos unless I'm in full auto. I tried all other modes, like shutter or aperture priority, but got the same results. After I half pressed to get the auto focus done, followed by pressing the button fully, the camera clicked, and then it will black out. This is the point when it just black out for quite long. Almost as if the camera hanged. But if I'm using full auto mode, the camera will click almost immediately, and the image is displayed at the LCD. I then went on to experiment using the live preview to take photos instead. Surprising it worked, and no matter what mode it is, there's no problem. Nothing seems to be documented... perhaps it is really faulty? Unless someone has some idea, I guess I'll have to make a trip back to TCW tomorrow. sigh

i think its faulty. nvr happened to me before. only time it took very long to close shutter was after i got it back from csc. then i realise the tech set the aperture at f/22 and shutter speed 30 secs.
