400D or 30D

if you want to start off your photography with an SLR/DSLR then the 400D is pretty much it. it is already the entry level camera. anything lower will be either the older entry models (300D/350D) or the digicams (which is an entirely different kettle of fish).

The 400D is my first dSLR and I'm a newbie. It's easy to pick up and learn, particularly if you've used Canon cameras before (the menus will be familiar). I def suggest reading the manual. There's heaps of information there for a newbie and it supplements the camera well.

HTH :)

Thanks hwchoy & Technospaz ... I used to own a Canon EOS50 few years back. Sold it off as got little time to pick up skill to take pics. Thot of picking up where I left off. So now, time for camera hunting ... thanks again guys. :)
