You can't base "better" on one quality. You've got to look at any product from a holistic point of view.

so if i take more on events where consistent color temperature and color of skin is important, so is metz 58 is better option then?

I guess the Sb-800 may still be better, but I shoot in RAW so any WB problems can be easily rectified.

wow thanks for the info guys!

I think still better to take SB600 / SB800 to be sure...;)

I have the SB800, would say ot is a good flash but after some time the quick relase & the locking pin become loosen & u will face contact problem on & off. All the new type of Nikon flash are design with quick relase now days.Unlike the old style which is the screw on type, you can really tighten it & u dont have the problem even after a long time.

As I always send my flash in for service at Nikon, I was told many others also facing the same contact on & off problem with this new quick relase design.

I have just bought the metz 58. Love the build & color temperature. Best of all, it is screw on, no more loosen contact problem. But the only draw back will be the menu system of this metz 58 is not very good & user friendly.

Pro & con just like the D200 & S5 Pro.:bsmilie:
