Anyone knows if this is the fair price?

First shop I asked was AP, and they quoted me $35 for one, rated at 1200mAh after bargaining from $45. Felt abit ripped off, so I shopped around.

Finally found one shop selling 2 for $70 (same price) and they are rated at 1800mAh.

Is this a good price? How much did you get yours and what rating is it? Many thanks!

Note: prices exclude GST.

Seems cheap, I got mine at AP for $45!
:(

Which shop did you find the 1800mAh ones??

That's a bummer! I guess that's why I hate to shop at AP.

Not very sure actually, it was some shop on the first floor. Quite near AP I remember. Right now I'm testing the capacity, hope it lives up to its rating.

I'm always lost at Sim Lim when I want to exit, can never remember which corner leads to where!

Guess its a love, hate thing with AP....
Let us know how's the 1800mAh... this seems like a good buy.
BTW, what brand is this?

Yeah, I am also quite lost sometime at SLS.
:D

Ya, agreed! :) ;( :) ;(

It's brandless (what's new?!). Box is purple with silver words stating "Digital Video Camera, Digital Power" model is DV-511 1800mAh 7.4V Lithium Ion

By the side it says "+100% EXTRA POWER".

Supposedly made in Japan as printed on the battery.

So far so good for testing. Taken about 200 pics/movies already. Trying to simulate my normal usage.

.

Do you remember the name of the shop ? 1800mAh batt looks interesting.

Not offhand, I could dig out the receipt or find out the next time I'm there.

You mean, the 1800 is not the norm? Hehe... I must have had a good deal on those batteries then!

You really think so?? :) :)

For a moment I thought gone case (ripped off), since he readily agreed to my price. He didn't even bargain!

I'm gonna sell these batteries off in a months time when i return from Nepal, anyone interested? I have an offer for 65% of the retail price. Any offers higher?

So far 280 photos/movies and counting! (loads of LCD and flash usage)

350 pics/movies and counting!! This battery is outperformed my expectations.

Anyone out there using 3rd party battery packs please do contribute your input. This would help all those you aren't willing to fork out >$100 for an original pack.

Wah liao... 300 pics and it still works... did you use LCD all the way?
;)

You guys will be amazed!!!! :gbounce: The battery sign finally start flashing and 5 pics after, it croaked. I must admit, the last 30 plus shots were shot with flash on.

The official count is about 470-480, all with LCD on, some playback, flash use about 15-20%, and movies about 3% (but that 3% took up so much memory space).

Most of the shots were taken in batches of 10-30 at a go, switched off for few hours, then continued.

One thing i noted was the recharging time for the flash decreased over time. Towards the end, the recharge take about 2-3 seconds (just an estimate) from prior shot. But if you dun use flash, its great!

So far extremely satisfied. I hate to let these go actually. Anyone want my original Canon BP-511s?? Give me your best offer for those! :)

Oops... i meant recharging time INCREASED!

Heh... sounds like a gd buy at $70 for 2. Where is the shop... couldn't go wrong with a few more batts.
;)

BTW, are you really selling them off after your trip? If so, how much?
:D

Yes please, where is the shop which you bought from? Looking to get one or two over the weekend. :D

3rd party batteries are  .

value for money.

Indeed value for money! :)

Awfully reluctant to sell them but I know I won't be needing them much after I return. Really no one interested in the original batteries??

I have offers of 70% of the retail price, i guess that makes it about $50 for both 1800mHas. Anyone with higher offers?

I got mine for around $30 each for the 1250 OEM BP511. ;)

How does the 1250mHa fair?

Was it at AP? I remembered the AP one is rated at 1200mHa, if not wrong.
