3rd party 1D series battery

wow i think its is a great product to bring in...im sure many here would be interested

I want to get one. How to order?

Is it possible to get the battery? I hope to get one too

just ordered 3rd party batteries for ~$30...woot

Wai I am interested in this. Since you're getting it custom made would it be cheaper if you do it in larger numbers? Any chance of consolidating a bulk order?

interested too. :D

should start a mass order for this... i definetely would support it... 2/4 np-e3's are like dead now haha

Just got my hand on the Lithium NP-E3, didn't know 100g will make so much different.

Love the custom-made battery charger too, it is just slightly bigger than my nokia phone charger.

If each charge can really last 2000 shots, I think I can only report the battery life a month later :D

Just an update...my Lithium NP-E3 finally drain off after more than 1 month, I have to check how many shots I really taken, should be close to 2000 shots, with some high speed continuous shot and play back of pic on LCD, I also forgot to turn off my 1D2 on some of the occasion too

without charging a single time? woah..

Bro, I WANT ONE!

I am currently oversea and won't be back to singapore till end of the year. Battery can't send by mail so I can only hand carry when I return to Singapore.

Although each batt is only 200g, my luggage limit is only 20kg. I am afraid of exceeding the limit because I have a lot of stuff to bring back after leaving Singapore for half a year

i m just curious since we are comparing batts here. How many shots is a Canon original batt suppose to be able to do? i am getting 500-700. is that normal?

That's normal. For a NP-E3 that's new, you may be able to squeeze out close to 1k. I did almost 1k shots in 5 days (but not intense shooting) for a 5-day camp, running on an almost-new NP-E3 from Eastgear.

Anywhere from 600 - 900 for me. But with the UK 3rd party batts of similar capacity as the NPE3 I told +even* about, I once did a shoot with about 1200 - 1400 shots in one day and my indicator still showed full charge at the end of the day.

I have 5x OEM NP-E3 so far over the last 3 years, the capacity is fantastic at the start (never really keep track of the count), but degrade quickly in less than 6 months. Within 1 year or so, all my OEM NP-E3 died one after another.

I have another 3x original NP-E3, although the capacity is not as great as OEM, but they lasted me close to 2 years before they died.

BTW, when the batt is low, the AF will get slower and metering will be a bit inconsistent. That's why i don't recommend using until battery flat unless it is for causal work.

No worries. I know you will give them a lot of TLC! :bsmilie:

Hmm ... should I ask you to open them and charge them up?

Aside, just read in the manual that a NPE3 in a 1D2 should give about 1200 shots in 'normal' temperature.

What is 'normal' temp if it's not stated anyway? In some regions, 'normal room temp' means 5-10 degrees!

The Lithium NP-E3 reached Singapore safely, some are for my friends and some are for the fellow 1D users here.

This will be the first and last time we bring NP-E3 back to Singapore, as we were caught at the airport 3 times! Kena warned by the custom officers and luckily they did not confiscate the batteries.

According to the airport regulation, no Lithium batteries are allowed as hand carry luggage. All Lithium batteries must be in check-in luggage and maximum only 2 pieces.

The X-ray machines are so smart that the alarm will be triggered automatically when too many batteries were detected. Can't escape even I split the batteries in 2 baggages
