35mm Choice: Summilux pre-asph or Summicron Asph? or..?

wahhh, i want the 4th from the left....
actually come to think of it, i want all of them hahha....

Did you get that lovely lens I texted you about the other day? ;p

Well I guess that's the exact point of it all. There's a lot of differences between lenses just as people's taste for these differences are well different! So there's a need to understand that not only the new ones push the edges of technology but the old ones help in even better stealth and so on, at least by design. There's plenty of different ways to compare. But one thing is for sure. No two lenses are ever the same. And they all are created on their own basis of whatever they want to push that specific lens for.

Exactly!

It is a very personal thing and very subjective, some people think sharpness is the most important aspect of a lens and yet others like it a little soft. No matter what, each lens has its strengths and weaknesses.

Take for example the current 35mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH with floating element, it is the latest and supposedly "best". But some prefer the previous 35mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH or even the earlier 35mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPHERICAL. This is only for the aspherical lenses, then we have the whole pre ASPH vs ASPH debate that is happening now.

here is a trick question!

if 35pre, 35asph and 35FLE cost the same... which would you choose, if you only can choose one ;p

35 lux ASPH!

Wait, why is the double AA not inside? if same price, obviously double AA!

If you need to pixelpeep to see a difference, i will always take the smallest lens.

35FLE...if i could get one, seems like nobody has the lens in stock:(

I will go for the 35mm FLE
No more worries of technical imperfection associated from the optical focal length which you have decided on...

Less time worrying about gear, more time to shoot :p
