Looks like this trip has a great chance of taking of....please count me in. I did some checking and it states that the best time to visit is from Nov - Feb where temperature are cooler. How about we plan this trip in Feb?

Actually I am ok btw feb to june. I will check the air tick price later. I have a friend who should be coming along. So that makes 3 person for now.

But since trip is 4days 3 nights, we will not be able to cover every thing.

Thanks Budse for the feedback.

I would also like to register my interest here if the trip is taking place from Thursday to Sunday :)

Wow count me in. But let me check my reservist date first.

The best way to see the temples is to rent a bicycle. No need for a car, bus or tuk tuk.

Do not give money to the beggar kids. It encourages the behavior and most likely they don't get to keep the money anyway. Also no candy as they don't go to the dentist.

You can have a nice meal for less than 2 usd.

Also can consider another guide who has been active with CSers PMers and FNers over the years... So he is familiar with needs of photos

Tungtong also shot his wedding and very nice n humble guy

his name is Chhor Elit in FB

As usual do ur homework and compare prices n services

Here is an outline of what Sowanna has planned. Anyway I will check with other sources.

Hi, Sowanna has mentioned that bookings are full from dec-feb. seems like we should plan a march trip.

Due to time constraints, we will not be going to the shooting range.

Anyone have comments? Personally to me - pay us$150 for 5 monks for 1 hour seems pricey.

interested to go, but need to know exact date first.

a question though: shooting sunrise is only on Day1? So... if the weather is bad on that day that means we are going to miss it?

Will ask guide if day 2 can shoot sun rise as well.

Dear all, Jetstar prices as follows (including 20 kg check in luggage but exclude credit card charge)

8-11 March $499
15-18 March $311

5-8 Apr $701 (got public holiday in between)
12-15 Apr $297

Prices will slowly rise so take note.

Apr 12-15 seems good :)

Note:

1) If we stay at Golden Temple Ville- there is no breakfast box. We have to find our own breakfast.
2) Airport is around 20 min away from the hotels. So we should reach airport by 3.20pm and should have enough time to check in and board the plane by 4.15pm (depart 4.45pm).
3) This schedule will not cover EVERYTHING. Noted that the temples alone will take more than 3 days to cover so i guess the guide is condensing some of the temple tours.

---------

-Total Price: US$250 for all 7 – 8 persons (Even for 4-5 people- the price remain at US$250)
-This price is included such
-English speaking Guide
-A/C mini van (8 pax max)
-Mineral water to provide during tours
-Tour Programs as mentioned

Other expense by your own group

-Angkor Ticket: US$40 per person
-Dinner with show : US$10 per person
-Boat trip + ticket : US$10 per person

-Golden Temple Villa : US$18 or 20 per night in sharing room in twin room, It is no breakfast, Golden Temple Villa Guest House - Siem Reap Cambodia

Lastly estimated budget (i'm using US$1=S$1.3). Exchange rate very good now!

1) Airfare: S$320 (estimated)
2) Accomodation: USD $60 (assuming we stay Angkor Holiday hotel) or approx S$80 per pax on twin sharing basis
3) Tour: USD$31.25 per pax (based on 8 people) or S$41
4) Angkor ticket: US$40 per pax or S$52
5) Dinner with show US$10 or S$13
6) Boat trip with ticket US$10 or S$13
7) Thursday supper, friday lunch, friday dinner, friday supper, saturday lunch, saturday dinner, saturday supper, sunday lunch at
approx US$50-US$100??? Cater S$100 for food and drinks (I'm being conservative)

Total: S$619 (approx).
EXCLUDE aspara dancer and monk photography which seems pricey.
Would say that bring around USD $250-$300 should be enough for the trip.
And need to bring lots of coins and candies cos kids will be asking. Just in case.

Disclaimer: I will CALL the guide to reconfirm US$250 is for 7-8 people instead of per pax basis. Just in case of communication error. Haha.

And this thread was moved to Kopitiam. Not sure why

Hi so far here are the people going. Pls add on to register interest. I am looking at 22-25 march as guide is already booked during 12-15 apr. Will probably buy tickets by jan. hope the air tick do not rise. I have also posted under my Facebook to ask some photography friends and maybe some might join in and I will add their names.

1) ecurbw (me)
2) coolrider
3) yrh0413

Note: if we want to shoot sunrise on the second day, we will need to fall in at 5 am instead of 530am.

Sowanna has reverted
1) he need photo of our passport to book hotel. Maybe we can email him separately for confidentiality purpose.
2) hotel- pay by cash upon check in
3) tour fees- pay at end of tour.

Cheers and merry Christmas!
