Ferrari will only go for proven driver as their number 1....maybe if Alonos flop next season while Vettel flies... then maybe Ferrari will consider him.

Actually Ferrari and McLaren had made attempts to sign Vettel up after his first season at STR. It seems that they were unable to release him from the complicated Redbull contract. Given Schumi's level of influence, i am sure it is only a matter of time before Vettel ends up wearing red.
