The leaders square will be having some performance. Live action.
Can't say more. Telephotos will be best.
I seen people taking sigma 70-200 in for their childrens graduation....
Yeah, there are canteen above cookhouse 2 and 3 but if they are open is another question... one good telephoto should be able to get you tru the day...

i've been to AOH 2007 during my nsf days.. don't worry about food and drinks. you can get it almost anywhere in the camp! practically everywhere. canteens are also open. didn't really notice about big lenses though as i wasn't into photography at that time. but i did see lots of cameras. heh.

the last time i was there, there were chinooks (CH-47), blanks firing, and even red lions landing on the leader's square at specific timings everyday of the AOH..

ENJOY this year!

3rd september is wednesay. The event starts on 3rd til 7th. School holidays starts on 7th (Monday). So if you go early on 3rd onwards wednesday should be freed of running childrens like ants.

3rd Sept is Thur...... :bsmilie:

tempted to go however it's very far for me as i live in the east sia!

Yeh i understand. However if you can get to any MRT stations in the east, hop on and it will take you all the way to Joo Koon station. There's where all you need the camp is within walking distance. Stay late until the event closes still will not miss the last train

I would suggest alighting at Boon Lay MRT and get on the free shuttle bus to PLC.

The walk to PLC from Joo Koon is about 20 minutes and tiring for people with family members.

Information about how to get to the AOH 2009 is in the website.

I was the Transport Deputy for AOH 07 before, and if im not wrong, they do not allow long lenses in.
In term of what is "long lenses", i'm not too sure.

But u guys can try dropping an email via the website.
If its allowed, maybe printing the email might be useful too

think they may have an AH-64 parked at parade square...

my cous in ncc is going this afternoon with his school and my own poly has organised for tmr.

Thank you for your interest in AOH 09.

As this is an event open to the public, there is no restriction on the camera or lens type that you can bring in.

We look forward to seeing you and hope you will enjoy the experience.

Thank You and Best Regards

oic.went today and its open for public already:)
today got alot of students from ite, ncc and some other sec schools.
not much of public though.

It was like night and day, most of the officers and men manning the display were friendly like from the Terrex, some of the warrant officers were very hostile "Asking where I'm from" and the purpose of taking photos. This type of questions pops up in the Army Open House ?

Today, there were a lot of ITE and NCC students.

I guess those warrant officers are still not used to people bring huge cameras into camps and taking photos during open house - so assume that you are from the media. They'll get used to it by tomorrow haha...
