2 lenses to bring on trip?

I would bring the 28-200 mm and the 12-24 mm. Does almost everything you need!

great to hear so many 'different' answers.

Guess that it's these two factors to consider when coming to choosing the 'best' setup:

1) which focus range you want to cover
2) the balance of weight/mobility to shoot.

Imagine the late photographer in my signature goes running with a SLR/prime lens when everyone else is sleeping...

I've narrowed down to 3 lenses (20mm, 50mm, d70 kit lens) that i currently have to bring with me for a France trip coming up next month. I still wish to bring only max. 2 lenses. Subjects will be mixed, i guess, as Paris will be good for street photography, and the other regions that I will be visiting will be good for landscapes.

hi kristlbel.... i would suggest u bring 2 zooms,
d70 kit lens and 80-200.

the kit lens is perfect for street photography, and is good for landscapes.
the 20mm and 50mm focal lengths are duplicated by the kit lens.
the 80-200 will come in surprisingly useful for landscapes, among other things.
