This is a question for the Engineer ........ DCA ... where are you?;)

hmm i'll say, Film uses much lesser power than digital, and most film grip only uses 4AA batts, about 6V, the conversion is simple... for digital, they uses 7.2V, and uses 9V with a chip to regulate, so its actually simpler to convert using a grip thats using a NP-400 batt than to use 1 with just AA battery... we would not wanna go into details how a grip is made rite... esp for the battery compartment issue...

the Dynax 5 grip uses AA batts?

:dunno: :dunno:

i just based my idea on Dynax 7, i dun even know if Dynax 5 got grip anot...

but from the way i see it... Dynax 7 grip confirm cannot use with Dynax 7D, cos the output is different..

i still dont understand how it work.... try to fixed it whole afternooon:think:

Mod the VC-7D lor.... ready made shutter release and also NP-400 compartments.

I looka t all the cameras with VGs ......... and I salivate.......when is Jenis coming up with a 3rd party VG for the 5D?

hmm u wanna mod which 1? a wire out from VC7D or a build in contact from D5D?

U've just got to connect the shutter trigger to the cable release and then plug it into the camera body... make it neat or... as for the contacts for battery, I have no idea...

built-in contact through the batt compartment for 5D looks impossible (if that's what you meant?).

Actually not really... all you need is to extend the wires and then fashion some thing with the correct shape to fit the battery compartment. The thing is the contact extension like that our VC-7D does not need to fit the compartment exactly... otherwise can saw away and redo... afterall DCA got machinery to do so right?

huh? i'm a bit confused, but 5D batt compartment has no other contacts including for focus, other than the option to use the remote cable.

thats y the focusing is done via the remote control... have u used the remote b4? it can do 1/2 press & full press...

The battery contacts is just to make use of the VC-7D's double NP400 capacity. The focussing has to be done via the remote cable. There is no way we can use the other buttons and knobs on the VC-7D unless there is an unused connector on the motherboard and we can program the ROM/CPU to take input signals from other than the buttons on the body... it's pretty sophisticated stuff...

God, please give our KM forum engineers, the wisdom to carry out this seemingly impossible task .......

Brothers DCA and TME .....may God bless the 2 of you .....

Count me in for the project....keke doing machining too ;)

haha the other time say wanna do the flash bracket? then nothing happen?
 now wanna do grip?

Flash bracket? I thought its those L metal bracket thing that's available?
