Ask him to show you a few copies to the lens to choose from it. If he says only have one copy, don't buy. There could be some defects which you have not discover. May be the lens has been droped before and they just want to sell at cost. BTW cost of the camera before GST is $2094....

Oh just recalled once experience with Song Brothers, we I ask for quote, they say price includes GST, then when I went to pay, the punch in the price quoted and add GST to it. Then when I ask why the GST is added, their reply was "We always quote before GST, GST earn by goverment, so we never include it in when we quote!". So just be careful.

If you hear nothing but bad news, it should tell you something about a shop already. If you still want to be strongheaded about it and go ahead, then do so at your own risk. As I said before, you have been warned.

I did buy my 430EX flash from them a year ago. The shop assistant did quoted me some figure which is cheaper than other shops (MS Color & Cathay), I straight away said yes and when he went to find the flash he cannot find it. Then eventually found it and told me he quoted me wrong, that it should have been $10 more. I needed the flash badly and didn't want to travel back to AMK, so after trying it out I bought it, so far no problem *touch wood*, but still I didn't really like they way they do business.

My flash is considerably cheaper than your lens, if I were you I would think twice.

This sounds too familiar... I was quoted $2200 for the 30D body alone.. it was real good deal early last year when it first launch.. when I say I will take it.. he said.. only left the kit.. Darn!!! :sweat: one of the usual tactics... don't know why they want to do that

I call and call.. they say no stock.. then I ask my brother to walk in the next day.. they bring out one box for him (body only!!!!) my impression of this store wasnt good anyway, brought 2 friends there to buy psp and wasnt given any sort of service even though we are like standing at the booth for a good 10-15mins.. :sweat: end up buy from elsewhere

i went to my usual camera store two days ago and asked for a price. They quoted me A$3099!!!!!!!!!!!!

i thought it was ridiculous considering i bought my 24-70L for over $1000 less.

Also, i would like to konw if the 16-35L I has dropped in price since the release of the II?

quite the same here in Europe. The lens is selling for about S$3100 (after conversion) here. The difference is sufficient for a cheap return ticket!
