If price is good enough why not?

not unless you are getting a lemon?

Yup...but to be fair, not all "friend" sets if attractively priced are potential lemon...some ppl may be shy about selling their used stuff (perception of being in need of $, that's why liquidating stuff).. but still need to do all the usual checks when inspecting the stuff...hehe

Well everyone's got their POV, but it boils down to the moment.
everything's fair when you wants to buy them.. hehe

Hi, how does the front (lens mount area) of the D600 feels like? i shoot landscape and long exposures often thus will be mounting the 14-24 f2.8 on it with tripod for long period of time. Can the body actually support the weight of the lens since the front is not alloy like the D800?

@oksoks @Blur Shadow @Kit Thanks for the replies! the 14-24mm is my first fx lens. been a dx user for 2 years. Looking forward to upgrade to D600 soon :)

Just check here : http://photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00ZWYI?start=20

Front plastic module is not important from the main reason, everything is just depend how you carefully using it.

After you saw the photo and notice about the top body design is alloy but still can be cracked.

thats KL price rite? JB price??
No Singapore price. US price = SGD 2575, current street price in Singapore is SGD 2900. Thats a SGD 325 premium. JB & KL should be cheaper than Singapore as reported in other posts.

Actually we have ourselves to blame . Everytime new model comes out all queue up to be slaughter.
And best part is 90% or more of us has a cam already . Imagine if all (I mean all) of us just sit back
and wait for price to be equal to global Market price then we make the purchase.
In the mean time before price equalise , we just use existing gear .
Well I know it won't happen , cause we are "Sinkies" ( born and breed KS )

Not just us mah. Europe had it slightly worse than us this time round. Australia traditionally a bit more also.

Not a single worry. Even an old D70 can hold a 70-200 VR.

Do note that you would have to send your dSLR to Nikon Service Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for any servicing needs. Most stores are willing to send it to the service center on your behalf, but your camera still has to make a trip up and down the North-South Highway.

Nikon lenses have international warranty though.

That's the primary reason I decide to buy locally. Canon is much more convenient cos the service centre is right in JB.
