Here's a fantastic read from an 'enlightened' photographer sharing his personal perspective on the true art of photography:

Hmmm, from all the postings, I think it is safe to say you guys had a great timeGreat pics ! Special mention to T16 Jr.
T16's 'trick' is starting to work on me. By lending me his D100 last Sunday, I now experienced the freedom of shooting digital for the first time. So I think I better start buying 4D more often from now on :bsmilie:

Hi DCA, it was nice to see you at photoaid. How much did it raised?
I have a wild idea that I brought up to King Tiger, T16 and Snowspeeder:
why don't we 'model' for each other? Sounds crazy? Here's how I see it,
1. all of us are 'normal' looking ppl, so it'll train the person taking the pics to find a comlementry side to our looks. Imagine if anyone can photograph me looking 1/2 as 'handsome' as Tom Cruise, then they can sure capture superb images with professional models....LMAO
2. The 'model' can also learn about their own 'best side' and pose so that we don;t have to look 'ugly' in front of the cam anymore. So no complaints of never getting a decent photo of ourselves ...hahaaa
Anyway, looking forward to seeing the gang soon. We can visit each other's place and make it into a photo diray of our CNY 2005 !

Found out that digital is not as straight forward as shooting film(negatives). For film, I dun worry too much about 'hot-spots' becasue the media can take the extreames in brightness. Whereas for digital, a little -hotspots here and there would ruin the picture.
So, shooting with digital, IMHO, requires more disipline in metering than for negative films. This is the most important lesson I have learnt after using T16's D100. I am now using this newly found 'disipline' in metering in my own shooting. Still waiting for the frist roll to finish before I can see the result.
SMS or call me for the next outing
