#128 Château de Chillon, Lake Geneva.

The glow of the setting sun shone upon the Château de Chillon and the eastern shore of Lake Geneva, lending a tint of warmth to the victims withstanding a barrage of merciless pounding waves.
The approaching rain was foretold by a dark overcast sky.

Have not logged in for a lonnggg time, and hell, this is great stuff!
Good work dude!!!

#129 Aletschgletscher, Bernese Alps.
A sweeping view of the majestic Aletschgletscher, the largest glacier in the Alps, can be observed from the summit of Eggishorn at 2926m. The famous 3 peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can actually be seen clearly in the far distant background.

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more photos! thumbsup

#130 Spitsbergen East Coast, Svalbard.
It was indeed a different experience walking on sea ice compared to snow. Beneath the sparse sprinkles of powder snow, the sea ice actually cracked into 'angled' pieces when stepped upon, behaving like a layer of thin glass. However, these ice pieces are extremely light & porous, which produced very little liquid water when melted.

#131 Tromsø, Troms.
The largest city of Northern Norway as well as one of the most popular places above the Arctic Circle to see the Aurora Borealis, the enchanting city of Tromsø easily resembled a scene right out of a romantic fairytale. A famous landmark of the city, the Arctic Cathedral, can be seen here on the left contrasting against the snowy mountain backdrop under a twilight sky.

#132 Furgggletscher, Valais Alps.
It took us over 3 hours to hike from the top of the cliff from where a splendid view of the Furgggletscher on the other side can be enjoyed along the Matterhorn Glacier Trail. A deep valley lies hidden beyond the foreground, hence a deceiving close proximity of the mountains from the crystal clear pond here below the alpine snowline.

Oh damn, look at that lighting!!
Really really well captured pictures!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi nuts, thanks for re-visiting the thread again. Glad you still enjoying the captures. :)

We flew to Svalbard on our own and then signed up for various tours from the operators there. Due to the polar bear threats and the extreme weather conditions, it is unsafe to wander out of the town without an armed local guide as fatal incidents had happened to travelers not disregarding the advice.

btw I'm enjoying your travel blog entries, you write very well. Hope this can inspire me to kick start my blog again soon after stalling my writing engine late last year. Sigh...

Hi ovaltinemilo, thanks for your generous compliments. Really glad you enjoyed them!

No PP done to these OOC jpegs though saturation is indeed rather on the heavy side for some as you mentioned, due to badly adjusted in-cam settings. Appreciated your valuable comments. :)

Oh wow, need armed escorts!...

THanks for the info. And thanks for the compliments. As for writing engine being stalled, I think it happens to everyone, so yeah, I'm sure you'll kickstart it again soon! :)

Yes, armed with high powered rifles and they will have to shoot to kill in dangerous situations. A wounded bear is more of a danger than a normal one. Fortunately, bear fatalities are few and uncommon.

You can see the long rifle carried by the guide in #94.

A curious husky from our team peeping out of his kernel after a sledging trip. His name is Pumba.

Amazing shot...

Thank you very much for sharing.

Btw, you mention the GND filter, is that the square filter and we need an adapter?
