#128 Château de Chillon, Lake Geneva.
The glow of the setting sun shone upon the Château de Chillon and the eastern shore of Lake Geneva, lending a tint of warmth to the victims withstanding a barrage of merciless pounding waves.
The approaching rain was foretold by a dark overcast sky.

#130 Spitsbergen East Coast, Svalbard.
It was indeed a different experience walking on sea ice compared to snow. Beneath the sparse sprinkles of powder snow, the sea ice actually cracked into 'angled' pieces when stepped upon, behaving like a layer of thin glass. However, these ice pieces are extremely light & porous, which produced very little liquid water when melted.
Oh damn, look at that lighting!!
Really really well captured pictures!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi!
Did u do Spitsbergen/Svalbard DIY or on a tour?
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! Amazing photos from the trip...Composition is surperb! some PP was slightly on the strong side though...enjoy it very much! Especially the intro you have taken effort to put down..
Hi nuts, thanks for re-visiting the thread again. Glad you still enjoying the captures.
We flew to Svalbard on our own and then signed up for various tours from the operators there. Due to the polar bear threats and the extreme weather conditions, it is unsafe to wander out of the town without an armed local guide as fatal incidents had happened to travelers not disregarding the advice.
btw I'm enjoying your travel blog entries, you write very well. Hope this can inspire me to kick start my blog again soon after stalling my writing engine late last year. Sigh...
.....
Oh wow, need armed escorts!...
THanks for the info. And thanks for the compliments. As for writing engine being stalled, I think it happens to everyone, so yeah, I'm sure you'll kickstart it again soon!![]()
