Anyway, nice pics you have Will.. I like the style.. You might want to invest in a WA lens for the interior shots though..
How do you manage to isolate the subject from the background so nicely? I always have problem using the lasso to outline the subject, always end up with jaggy edges :dunno:![]()
thanks bro .. by d way .. u need me a 2nd backup photographer ? my pleasure and hornor to help u outhe hee..
alrite now i know who to look out for if i need one! haha. btw bro, what lens did u use for the shots most of the time? im thinking of getting 50mm 1.4 or sigma 30mm 1.4 for my sis wedding. hmm..:dunno:

Depends on what n how you want to shoot i guess.. For Will, think he told me he used the 50mm/1.8 most of the time.. I might be wrong though..
For greater flexibility, get a zoom.. Something along line of the ef-s 17-55/2.8 or tammy 17-50.. If you prefer primes, the 2 u mentioned produce good IQ but might be too long (hope i used the right term here) for a 1.6 crop body.. Meaning you have to stand further back, risking someone crossing your line of vision just when you're about to get 'the' shot..
You might also wanna consider getting an external flash unit if u don't already have one..
All the best..
ya bro emotic .. u are correct.. it really need flash if u intend to use normal zoon lense with f4 to f6 orsomething higher f shop. in the ballroom the lighting is really not good and it very hard to take without flash and with higher f shop lense..
if u already have flash , i think u can use any zoon lense lol .( just my thinking)
Yes, you're quite right.. Unless you're using a constant aperture, like the 17-55/2.8 or 17-50/2.8.. Good for low light, brings out the ambience esp in ballrooms, churches etc..
Went to JBP last weekend to try out if I really love shooting close up potrait. I can tell you that the turnout by DSLRers was equal to the species of the birds in JBP...heheheh.
This time, I use my telephoto EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III USM throughout the shooting. Heard a lot of 'not-so-good' comments about this lens which came together with the kit lens at promotional price of $50 (original price is $150).
Was a bit sceptical about its performance but hey, look at the result! Was thinking of selling it off and get a tamron 90mm but for now, I prefer to keep it and enjoy it. Of course the help of sunlight that day helps with the result.
What do you guys think?

wao! what lens are you using to capture such clear shot?
Never could i achieve this with my 1000D.
Did you notice any differences between the shots by your NIkon friends and your 1000D camera you are using?
Thank you for replying =)
for me, i use wacom tablet to "erase" the sides nicely. zooom alot and erase the side slowly and nicely haha ;p
Hi bro..for my case i didnt use lasso..i use brush only..then like efan say u must zoom..
so when i zoom, i'll reduce the diameter of the brush. hehe.very tidious..time consuming...but i happy wat i'm doing den should be fine...but now.
My pc crash and still unable to restore..luckily my canon software is ok..aiyah stress la..i just borrow some books from library abt cs4.. now i cannot play with it. ;(
Thanks for the pointers. I think my problem is that I am impatient-lah. Was just trying to see whether anything less tedious and time consuming. Looks like no short cut ![]()
bro, u can use lasso and the go to 'feather', choose around '2' and then you will not have uneven cropping.
