portraiture test. hate the bg tho.

brzn700.jpg

just curious ,who else find the buildings at the back very distracting for this one?

Bro, no offence.. But for a portrait, this bg is distracting.. 2 options you have.. Either change the angle (your model might also have to shift a bit), or go in tight so as to crop out most of the distracting bg elements..

But nice work..

Errmmm one thing I can advise on sports photography is.. set your auto focus point to centre.

select the subject way before he does anything. keep the centre dot on him following his everystep with the half shutter button depressed.. anticipate his moves and snap away..

Got good practice taking my friends doing bmx flatland. Oh yeah make sure your shutter speed is fast enough to capture the moment and increase iso if have low light conditions.

69efan69, the back ground seems too bright.. maybe you could tone it down using levels and mask yourself out.

axis90x, good photo. Always try to be minimalistic in pp to bring out greatness in your photo.. Over pping.. won't do the photo much good.. but I like to over pp hahah...

bro cakka ...this is for u :)

Action Photography
Shooting fast moving subjects (like racing cars, planes, bikes, running animals etc) can be a frustrating experience when shooting with auto focus.

Even the continuous focusing modes can get left behind or confusing if you’re not panning with your subject smoothly.

One way to overcome this is to switch to manual focusing and pre focus on a point that the subject will move through - and shooting at that point. You need to get your timing just right - but you’ll find that it’ll often give better results than relying upon auto focus modes (particularly if you shoot in continuous shooting/burst mode).

Thanks Bro, Yes Im on Manual and RAW now. Just like netjackal, Im practising panning. Must join Draken with the bmx.

so this is panning, which is better compared to focussing on a point we anticipate the subject will be passing?

I/m anxious about the thrad on 1000d talking abt reverse macro.actually i not too sure abt macro shot. is it trying to get the subject sharply focus on a certain distance? is dat wat they meant. hehe

I got a few shot to share here..dis shotz are taken with my ex-lens(75-300 II USM-(got macro rite)) hehe. Is this shot a macro..??

& this shot was taken long before the 1st outing of 1000d was organize.Location was at botanic garden. Shoot it with a fren using only my dearest 1000D.(My fren no camera..so got to share, he take quite good shot too)

Bro, I suggest you monitor the Rain movement in the morning. Kind of 'unpredictable' these few days.

http://www.weather.gov.sg/wip/c/portal/layout?p_l_id=PUB.1023.5

Monitor at interval of 15 mins and you will observe the direction of rain clouds, those dark green and yellow patches.

hehe..

What is the macro on your pic?
Speciffically what is macro/ What are the objective?? please explain. HElp.Help!!:dunno:

Macro to me is being able to capture the finer details in the small.. something you cannot really do with a normal lens.. Like the groves in the snail shell.. and the flowers.. The flowers are actually smaller than a 5 cent coin is reality.. hahah..

I used raynox 250 for the pictures.
