Has anyone else noticed that the Standard Picture Style on the 1000D doesn't quite give enough color saturation. I kept having to bump it up in postproc. until I gave up and changed to User Custom Picture Style that has the color sat. upped by 2

Maybe it is just me .. I like the rich colors effect. :D

yep i did the same and im loving the colours. :D

Cakka, you can find it here..

To all, you can actually apply the Picture Style settings in DPP when you're editing the RAW file.. Not necessarily in-camera.. Refer here..

Thanks, infact Im now struggling with DPP to pp my RAW. Need to play around with all functions.

One quick Q. when I save and convert to jpeg, the files still quite big, between 7-10mb. Is this normal?

My shots during the Bike event. Not as sharp, perhaps need to increase shutter? Was on Continuous Burst Mode.

Yes, if you're saving to JPG from RAW in DPP its normal.. After that you need to reduce and resave in iPhoto or some other photo-editing program..

And quite nice captures you have.. You might wanna try bumping up the sharpness in DPP by +2/+3.. That's what i try to do all the time.. And try not to go above +3, else you'll introduce noise into your image.. You might also want to bump up your saturation abit so your colours don't look so 'flat'.. Notice that in some of the pictures..

Interesting day you all have. Will try to join you want of these days. Need visa approval :bsmilie:

Cakka, I think problem is not shutter speed but because the lighting is not optimum. While normally, this lighting is enough, with the need for small aperture to incr DOF, this put a limit to the amt of light that can be captured. If you incr shutter speed further, then even less light. Some more in continuous mode. Maybe expecting too much from the camera

Another idea: did you use the cont focus or focusing based on the first shot in continuous mode?

In DPP, there are 2 options in tools for Saturation, in RAW & RGB. Shall I do both?

Adjust under RAW.. Do not adjust under RGB unless you know what you're doing.. ;p I've yet to play around with the RGB part too..

Bro, found something.. DPP Video Tutorials..

Basically, under the RAW tab, the functions only work if you're editing RAW files (won't work with JPG/TIFF files).. RGB tab allows you to edit RAW/JPG/TIFF files.. The NR/Lens is for noise reduction and repairing lens distortion..

And yes, pls backup your original RAW files.. I backup my RAW files on portable HDD AND DVD hehe..
