nice effect on the 2nd picture... if i am not wrong, my friend did mention to me about a shooting technique called "dragging" the shutter for long exposure which can achieve this effect. for your case, what settings on the 1000D did you use ?

Comments for the above two photos in bold. I feel for 4 & 10, direct flash gives very harsh lighting. My guess is, you're using the pop-up flash. Maybe can try to use a diffuser? I've been using tissue paper as diffuser for the pop-up flash.
My 2 pence.
my few fav shots i took. i'm still learning btw. 1 of 2....

I kinda like this pic.. given now it's the festive season, i get the feeling of sadness/loneliness from this picture like as if the subject is looking enviously upon the family/friends bbq, wishing he too had something like that of his own..
good shot!

I used ISO100, f/22@44mm, 1 sec, mirror lock.
Good to see so many 1000D users. Not feeling lonely now...![]()
Ok 1st question how do u get the 1sec mirror lock thing (sori if the question is silly1) i know how to change the iso tou. Hehehe
And ya me too cos hear many say that 1000d isn't a good camera.;p
it's the man behind the camera that makes the good photos.. not so much of the machine!
