Hi all!

I'm very happy to find this thread! I am also new to DSLR and i just got my 1000D a couple of weeks back. I managed to get some few shots lately and I would be very happy to get your C&C...I believe that the best way to learn is through the comments from experts and other users like you guys.

for benefit of brand new newbie (like me) may I suggest all pics is accompanied by the settings used. It helps and gives me an idea what to play with.
M still having a challenge to upload photos here, under FAQ it mention go to user CP and look for link Album/Pictures .... cant find it though. I sure like you guys to comment on my pathetic trial shots. Looking fwd to some help for this poor old man.

Hi, it was taken from my tank. using 18-55mm kit lens.

Ouch! :cry:

You are shooting directly into the sun. Your lens is hurting. :nono:

there is nothing wrong with that. the shutter speed is 1/1600 second anyway.
shooting images with sun in the background requires high shutter speed that it does not do much damage anyway. you wont be using slow shutter on direct sun too. ur image will deem unusable and that maybe will damage ur sensor.
as long as u take, and move away. its still ok i guess.
if u cannot shoot at sun, then i think u cannot shoot sunset too :bsmilie:
