It's been a while since I checked this thread and seems like the 1000D band is growing fast. Nice pictures everyone!

By the way, has any of you guys own a third party (Phottix) battery grip for 1000D? Hmm, I was thinking lately of getting one but I am a bit skeptical about it since I heard some not so good stories that it could damage the camera. Well, for persons with tight budget like me, the price of phottix is definitely attractive than the original.

So, sorry guys for inserting this topic but would you recommend it? This question is basically for those users of this grip if there are any.. )

bro u use it with 3rd party batt isit? any probs so far? tempted to get one. but the batt is only at only $14. hmmm.

Thanks for the quick reply bro. Well, I have a friend who own a 450D and is getting some Err99 error. When he sent his camera to CSC, he was told that there was a short circuit in the main board. Of course he didn't tell them that he's using a 3rd party grip. So he's blaming it to the grip. Also some peeps said that the shutter button and the scrolling wheel is not that good.

I am just soliciting some opion from other users as well. I might consider getting one of these days. Thanks!

i have this feeling that the fella is using the phototix batt grip with different batteries?

Like one original and one third party batteries.

I used 3rd party batteries and until now still okay.

Im using the phottix and Fatah using the original Canon. Mine, so far so good but with 2 original battieries. To date more than 900 shutter count with Phottix.
