By the way, are you Sniper trained?.
can throw away extension tube, macro lens, flash bracket, off cord cable, stoffen box, expo disc liao lar, spend so much still can match a diy sub $300 consumer digi compact.
must dig a hole to put my head inside liao.
i bought them so that i can mod them, not really interested in macro photography. still, i am nowhere near his standard.:embrass: :sweatsm:
wow Steve !! Great shots as usual from the simple setup! definitely better than any of my lousy Macro shots (still learning..)
btw, what is a BMO lens? care to share?
BMO lens = Build My Own Lens ?![]()
Excellent Macros steve! Very good macros from a PnS!
Hi Steve,
Again, you're the man! The sharpness and details are amazing. Looking forward to learning more from you.
wah lao...u still ask if ur shots pass or not....
if u ask me, i give u distinction liao la....
#3 is the most excellent here..
and yes, i am also dam dam dam interested in knowing wats a BMO lens??? the BMO certainly did some magic here!
another question: with the inbuilt flash, how come it has the "strength" to light up for macro shots?? isit because of f5.6 thats y it is strong enuff to shoot?
The details and sharpness is really really impressive
STEVEEEEEEEE.....
Seeing your photographs......I DON THINK WILL INVEST IN ANY MACRO LENSES...never will !!!
To be frank, I dare not....later, buy liao, shoot, picture out, I cry......
your MARCO is Superb:thumbsup:
steve, i had nothing to say anymore... P&S shoot this kind of macro...i hv to go bang my head to the wall..... u r superb........   excellent macro from a P&S..i think no other ppl can do that except u...u really made my eyes open wide until my eye ball drop out...
by the way i got 1 question..i try to ued a milk container to do a diffuser..but the plastic is just too thin and when i dun on it..it seem does not hv any different..i see the meterial u used is quite thick..u just the plasctic or u got stick a piece of paper on the plastic?
WOw Steve !!! Ya done it again... Proving that its the man behind the viewfinder that counts.. I really admire ya shoots... I've got a few qn in mind, hope that you can help me solve some of them...
Q1. How do you ensure that ya pic is so sharp everytime?
Q2. How did u managed to get that blur background (bokeh)?
Q3. How does ya milk container works? It seems pretty thick and seems like the built-in flash will not be strong enuff to light up the subject and the background.
Pls pardon me for the newbie qn, :embrass: I really hope to learn from you... Tks you in advance !!
Hi Steve,
One thing I was wondering. Partly because you are using f3.5-f5.6, I see about 30% of the photo is sharply in focus and the rest is bokeh. What would you do if you need the WHOLE insect in focus. Can you do it at 3" distance or do you need to step back?
I took a few insects at SBG recently but did not post. There were quite a lot of shadows even though I tried to take the critters from different angles. Are there any optimal angles to take them with on board flash and diffuser or do I need to take only in locations with sufficient sunlight?
Thanks in advance!
I am always looking forward to see your posting.
Made me feel like throwing away my 105mm macro lens. Can buy 3 of the Fuji f450 with 1 105mm lens. Well i guess this is skill and understand of camera and lens that counts.
Great Shots:thumbsup:
