Really ? How ? I read on some earlier thread using some 77mm rubber hood or something.

Huh?? It's cause a lot of vignetting if used with the hood cos metal ring for the lens cap is already 82mm.

Just go buy some of those plastic sheets and cut to size.

Ya, there is limitation using the rubber hood, think must be at least 17mm or above to avoid vignetting.

hmm, I am referring to polarizing effect. can ordinary plastic sheets achieve that ? don't think so right ?

17mm and above is by using the given 82mm lens cap ring with a FF cam.

Not sure about that though cos i don't use it.

sorry guys for MIA-ing a few days. hmm well, basically now i'm still taking my time to choose which lens to get.. i've another 4 months to consider before going to HK to get it.

Hi So can i say that if the $$ is not a issue, one should go for the 10-22 without saying?

Cheers!

Hi,

Decided to purchase a UWA zoom as I can't find an affordable prime that is wide enough. Spotted this thread and hope you guys do not mind my interference. After days of research I have decided to pick up the Tokina 12-24 f4 at S$ 755.00 brand new. Read many of your comments here but have not seen any photos to help in my judgement. Before I make the plunge, is there any final words to steer me to some other lens. My main consideration is sharpness, resolution at both center and corners accross the focal length and most important is the color rendition ( Zeiss like ). 12 is wide enough for me and I like the 24 end to shoot some nice group portraits. Thanks.
