Huh?! Still dare to complain some more?!!:angry:
It is precisely because you are there in May, that is why you have lush green grass and tree leaves in the foreground and background with the snowy peaks miles behind to give you magnificent shots like this!

Try going in December. And all you will see are dried, bald trunks and branches and stones and rocks... sky will be lovely blue but lacking in dramatic clouds...
Try going in September. And you will see many many flower blooms all over... sky will be misty and foggy with rain and lots of clouds...

So depends on what you want lor.
Next time we go up there and cheong again in another season. OK? ;)

Bro SK, finally you made it to Tibet !!! And we are so blessed to see Tibet through your captures. There are quite a few nice ones that you've posted already and I am waiting for more to come. Well done :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks asterixsg. Your Iceland photos are really nice. I told myself I must make a trip there too before the ice melt away (that's an excuse though as despite the global warming, not too sure they will disappear that soon though :))

haha, 要去就去, 不去会后悔。 :)

D5 (Thursday, 12 May) This day we embarked on a Lhasa City Tour visiting Jokhang Temple(大昭寺), Barkor Market Street (八角街) and Potola Palace (布达拉宫).

There were a lot of devotees at the Jokhang Temple making it an ideal place to catch good portraits. However, the thick crowd also made it difficult to isolate the subjects. The Tibetan elderly are also generally camera shy, making portrait photography a challenge. I only have a few to share from this day and later.

Besides the locals and tourists, there were also a lot of police/army personnel in Lhasa. They were everywhere, always patrolling the streets. We were not allowed to snap any photos of them so I have nothing to share here.

It is said that 100% of Tibetan are Buddhists. They are also absolutely devoted. I have seen devotees who have both legs amputated doing the usual rituals others able-bodied ones would do. That’s real devotion if you ask me.

We visited Potala Palace after lunch. Security is tight, liquid (not even drinking water) or any thing that may start a fire (lighter, matches, etc) are not allowed. Visitors are to subject their belongings to x-ray check and pass through metal detectors. Tour groups are also given a specific period of time to clear the palace. It is a pity no photography is allowed inside the palace as there is really a lot a lot of interesting and mysterious stuffs.

D6 (Friday, 13 May) This day we headed for the pond in the Lu Kang garden (宗角禄康公园) behind Potala Palace for a glimpse of the palace’s reflection on the pond before leaving Lhasa for Namtso Lake (纳木错).
