I think it is more important to get the correct camera which can get you the photos that you want and usage.

Only about $110 for the tripod (comes with detacheable 3-way head) and $85 for the manfrotto 486 ballhead. Tripod is light because of the special alloy which is about 40% lighter than others like Manfrotto tripods.
