Hi everybody, I just collected my drowned D70 from NSC yesterday. Guess what, they do a checkup n confirmed that it is fine! No charge, all good to go! So, I pop in another CF card to try, everything went fine alright. The problem seem to be the CF card which drown with the camera that...

OK, called them. They said if presumed the problem is only the CF compartment, it about 200+, and labout is 100+. So, repair cost is less than 500, which is fine with me. But, they still need to open up to see if there are other things affected n give me an estimated quote. Woofair

I have tested my drown D70 again, still error in reading my CF cards. So, I think it really died. Anybody know if any shop sell just the D70 / D70s body alone, without any kit or lens? I am preparing the repair cost will be too high and it will be more worth to buy a new body. Thanks...

They have a 23L for $88. Akarui AD-026C with 5 years warranty. Seem not bad. Woofair:think:

Oh its tap water. The water bottle was not screwed properly so it spill onto the the DSLR in the bag ...... Yes, worst come to worst, I may have to buy a new DSLR then ...... its a very painful lesson to learn though. But, will still trying drying it for a week before I send it to NSC for...

ESPN, thanks for the quote. But, its my 24-120mm nikkor lens. Only starting to grow, but covering 20% of the lens now. OK, will try drying the D70 for this week. Actually having a photo assignment this saturday, now both film and Digital SLR are down, damn bad luck ..... Woofair :bheart...

Hi Clubsnappers, Thank you very much for your valued advises! But, I have actually switched on the camera when the water is still in the camera. So , think my D70 is really RIP rite ? If drying the camera thoroughly can have a minor chance to revive it, I will definitely try it. Afew...

Hi All, My mineral water was spilled on my D70 yesterday night. Now, the memory card slot always gives a "CHA" whenever I plug in a new CF card. And sometimes, the menu on LCD just freeze there. Garantee just over ..... Anybody know how much to service this kind of damage at SHIRO ...

So sorry, I have bought another camera instead. It is a rare Sanyo DSC-MZ3, 2Meg cam at $499. It has 3x lens, voice movie, webcam, voice recorder and even manual controls. Only set back is that the pic quality sucks. But, good for casual use. one cents for one quality, cannot ask for...
