Yes, it's red on the silver body. I think a lot of people who buy black buy it to be discrete and a red dot logo shouts out $ to thouse who know what it is. I suspect it won't last and they will eventually switch to Red again. There's always masking tape for the squeamish.

Are there any comparison photos on-line? I've never actually managed to find any. Either for the LX-3 or the previous LX-2 and its Leica counterpart. I've heard a few times that the Leica images are more natural but never seen any 1:1 comparison for the same view.
