It is meant to be more discreet since users have been known to out black tape over the logo.

Actually, I wished they include an option to see the 21mm frame lines.

like they did with the film body with 0.58, 0.72 and 0.85. i like to shoot 28mm eqv.

Yes, it's red on the silver body. I think a lot of people who buy black buy it to be discrete and a red dot logo shouts out $ to thouse who know what it is. I suspect it won't last and they will eventually switch to Red again. There's always masking tape for the squeamish.

Any idea when the leica m8.2 will show up in Singapore or hongkong? There's some dude selling it in the buy&sell section for $7950

Do you think its worth the price difference between the m8? I mean, getting the m8.2 won't mean you'll get better pictures...

I'm seriously considering getting either the m8 or m8.2

That dude you are refering to happens to be a very knowledgable camera connoisseur..

Anyway, you said it well. "Getting the m8.2 won't mean you'll get better pictures..." There's a few used M8 going for much lower prices at the moment.

Haha i havent been on clubsnap for ages, so i don't know all the dudes around here. I've been busy shooting my canon 40d and all. But i think i want a change. Because its finally hit me. That my camera has been doing all the talking for me. I want to really focus on photography and make my own images, do all the hard work myself. But i still can't bring myself to use film, so i'm gonna stick to a digital range finder for now. So thus, i'm seriously considering giving canon up and switching to leica.

But i have no clue how to use a range finder.... it'll be a whole new learning process again, but one i'm eagerly anticipating

Yeah the camera doesn't really matter. I was shooting a 300d all these years.

Couple of dudes are letting their m8s go in the buy&sell section.

You can borrow a film rangefinder body from Benny first to see if rangefinder is for you before you invest on a M8 or M8.2. I think Benny wouldn't mine.
