    P&S, put in pocket, LX-5 is outstanding. Serious DSLR-killer which can do many many things and is by far the smallest that can: Nex-5.

    2.8 is generally the fastest zoom, though I saw an olympus 14-35 f/2, for only 2000USD. A good 2.8 will run you over a grand, but a used sigma can be had for quite cheap. none of these lenses will autofucus on the nex, except the SAL2470Z 24-70 2.8 which is 1500 + 200 for the adapter.

    To compare 40mm 1.4 normal lens with a 2.6 16mm is about as silly as it gets. They are comepletely different animals. Since I have seen many gorgeous images tack sharp from the 16mm, including in low light, I suspect what you are seeing are user issues. Digitalrev has a really incompetent...
