Used Sanyo eneloops for my SB900 from day until now. Absolutely no issues, and flash recycle rate is respectable. Now using the Sanyo eneloop XX, performance even more incredible.

Came across this Adorama's learning center article saying for most of our modern DSLR, having a large aperture does not necessary mean more light. May want to take a look at his arguments there and consider (not the same range of aperture number but F1.8 to F1.4)...

the screen on my SB-900 not scratched even after 1 year of use without screen protector. It's made of glass and not plastic, not that easily damaged. Unless you drop it, then you are looking at much more damage than the screen itself.
