Well, I think so. As is known to all, Fuji's products are not so professional when compared with Canon and Nikon or other professional producer. But as a newbie, it is a good choice because you can experience the photography with a suitable price -- it will not beyond your budget.

It sounds like mov with h.264 codec is the most campatible with the iMovie for editing. I am not sure the detail profile settings and frame rate for 1080i or 1080p, anyway, I usually directly choose the right output format and wait for the conversion finished.

Find the ISO option in the menu and just adjust it to a higher value, or I wonder if you have turn on the flash lamp. if not, shotting with the flash lamp turning on can make the picture more clear.:)

Canon printer is skilled in home photo print work with HiFi Color of picture. I believe it will not take much money from your budget to buy one. :)
