Well, it took almost 4yrs to become redundant. So it was a pretty good pruchase for me. If the 70D is this good, can't wait for the new 7D MkII.

I have owned the 7D since Oct 2009. Love the camera. Have not been tempted to upgrade yet.

My five-years-old 350D and year and three-months-old 7D has no such problems.

I have had the camera for nearly two weeks now. I do shoot Full HD at 24p almost every time I use my camera (indoors and outdoors). I have not encountered any such issues so far. Of course I don't have the need to shoot for 10 or 20 minutes at one go.

Why? Has your camera suddenly stopped taking good photos now that the 7D is here? ;) Why would you want to downgrade?

The first three letters states that it is a EF-S lens, so silver ring.

Get a P&S or borrow a friend's/family member's camera for the holiday. By the time you come came the new camera would be out and you would have no regrets about not waiting a little longer.

I have used the same grip (BG-E3) but on the even older brother - 350D, for the past two years, with one Canon original and one 3rd party battery, without any problems...

I'm still using a 350D (with BG-E3) and Tamron 17-50. Still getting very good pictures. But the temptation is always there to upgrade.

Nice pictures. I too have a daughter - two months old now.

Smart move by Nikon to attract upgraders from PnS cameras to their DSLR system. Very tempting...:thumbsup:
