thanks guys. there are still pple who use pcs for photography. also checked the site again for those plug ins.. decided to go for a i7 processor with 4gb, 1TB hdd, win 7 ultimate and ASUS motherboard. So i can play games do the ordinary admin work plus PS processing. thanks

Saw from the web pages that there are quite a few plug in and editing software for the PC. I am thinking of ugrading my PC hardware and some of the phtoshop software. Any thoughts of staying in the PC platform or move to mac. Which is more preferred?

hi there i had the d70 which gave good result with great results for the last 3 years.. also curious like the rest as to why the noise level of d300 is not acceptable... did you apply the latest firmware.. there is difference in terms of sharpness in terms of colours, try various picture...

i use neutral and increase the sharpness by 2 pts alternatively, if you check out the nikon site and do a search, you can actually download other picture controls eg. landscape, portrait etc.. these are sometimes useful esp for jpeg.. from there you can also customise the sharpness hope...

have you found the solution yet. apart from nx, you can actually download a plug in for your windows xp or vista via the microsoft professional photography site.. so you can view d300 raw files via file explorer. http://www.microsoft.com/prophoto/downloads/codecs.aspx
