i was using the D80 previously with 24-70, and i was impressed with how sharp the lens was. But once i got the D700 , OMG, the IQ was another step higher.
If you intend to go FX, then you should get this lens.
those of you who are considering the 24-70, go for it, you will not regret it.
i got mine in Jan before the price went up and have been totally satisfied with it.

my line of work deals with plastic. AFAIC, irregardless what grade, plastic and rubber will hardened over time and will break.
i think anything over 5 years will be at risk.
point is, do you print that everyday, all the time? Have you ever printed A0?
