....they are coming out with new lenses for the EF-S line.. The "Rebel" & "Elan" class of digital cameras will continue to use the 1.6 format. Hence the reason to keep the EF-S mount around. Believe me, the next 20D like camera will have the 1,6 format, and will be a pretty nice camera...

I used to own a pair of the 1nRS bodies... the "10FPS" only works in "RS mode"..also, you will need to focus with the * button to take advantage of that high frame rate too.. The light loss is about a stop..because of that mirror.. and you need to keep it very clean too.. The 3 body...

Answer to your first question: Yes. The difference is huge...it's like asking if there is a big difference between the 50mm & 13m.. In the telephoto end, the difference of 7mm is nothing..but the wider you go, each milimeter is significant. I haven't used the 18-55 lens... I hear it stinks...

5D for me,...in fact, I already turned down a 1Ds for the brand new 5D.. Another thing,... you should also mention that the 5D has the advantage over the 1Ds in iso range.. 50-3200, more control over user shooting styles, better battery performance, lower costing batteries, more quiet shutter...

1998, and 1996 were a Looooong time ago.. Kodak couldn't produce a camera that could hold it's own against the 5D, hence the reason why they announced the discontinuation of them just prior to the official announcement of the 5D for under 4K.. Fanboyism.. Ignorance,... I take...
