i dont feel any lag for my case,maybe i was not shooting at high resolution.i shoot in sometime M an S-fine.cos i don't print,so smaller file size wont eat up too much memory for my pc.maybe that's y,i dont feel any lag.or maybe that's your feeling only....it actually not so.....

Normally this feature will automatically be turned on unless u turn it off by yourself.but sometimes the camera doenst have pheripheral illuminaton data for the lens.when it doesnt have data,you can still turn it on,but the effect is like disabled.so you have to make sure the body have the data...

For your info base on mine,if you enable the pheripheral data,it certainly helps a lot.like mine,i can almost see no vignetting on widest 15mm.and for the CPL thing,cpl only enhance contrast and reduce non metal reflection,it wont reduce vignette but instead it add vignette if you screw on the...
