Chose the Sigma 1.4 and am very happy with it.

Renting and trying out is a good way to see which would suit you better. Since you like to shoot with available light indoors, you may find that you need a larger aperture or get a 5dmk3... :)

The red ring cracked on my 24-105 months ago. Don't really miss the red ring.

50 1.8 is cheap, small and very light so it's easy to carry it around. Makes a fairly light hit to the wallet if you want to try out primes.

You may want to borrow or rent a D7000 and try it out so you can ensure you're testing in the same conditions as the 60D. Low light can give any camera and lens problems.

At the time we went, the grass was fairly tall so if you get a lot of trucks driving around in the bush, it would certainly be noticable. The areas we toured were very busy with a lot of honey mooners and hikers so it's probably a good way to conserve the land.

You can always consider doing curls with the 70-200 2.8. I'm sure Canon considers it as a bonus feature.

TS, what do you hope to achieve with a new lens that your current lens doesn't give you?

THe printer business is the biggest cash cow for HP. They probably will command an insane amount to sell off their biggest revenue stream.

Maybe try flushing the dns cache? ipconfig /flushdns I do notice that sometimes my desktop fails to pick up an ip, but i think that's related to the intereference from the TV next to my wifi router.

HD can fail, so you may want to think about having a second drive to mirror your data.

The 600D, like the 5dmk2 has only the centre focus that is cross type. The 60D is all cross type, making it more similar to your old 40D.
