Took one last pic of the setting sun near the entrance of the travertines before boarding our bus.

Next day, we headed to Mevlana Mausoleum of a Sufi mystic in Konya. But not before stopping by for some poppy seed yogurt mixed with honey. Delicious and doesn't get you high. ;)

Dropped by at Caravanserai, which used to be one of the resting places along the Silk Road for camels and merchants. This was the last pitstop for the ancient traders before reaching Europe. As such, it used to be heavily guarded due to the sheer value of the goods and hence, this place was conserved pretty well due to its historical importance.

Took a long bus ride to reach Cappadocia. Finally reached our hotel at night. Took a quick buffet dinner, settled luggage in room before heading out to shoot abit of the hotel. Pretty big compound and much like a museum. Quite an interesting architecture built to fit in with the Cappadocia landscape. Stayed two nights here.

At 4am, we departed for our hot air balloon adventure. Definitely the highlight of the entire trip and one which I was worried that it might not happen due to unfavourable weather conditions (20-30% chance). Thankfully, weather was fine that day, but quite cloudy and didn't have much sunlight. Therefore, didn't get much of a sunrise.

Everyone was scrambling to get onto the balloons and my group was one of the last to board. When we were in, most of the other balloons have already ascended. Quite a squeeze in the compartments. Can forget about tripod when even changing lens was challenging.

The pilots were skillful enough to manoeuvre the balloons around the fairy chimneys. We were up in the air for about 45mins to an hour, so there was plenty of time to admire the Cappadocia landscape as the day grew brighter.

Great shots. Crowded tourist spots can be a challenge but you just blended the people in. Thanks for the lesson.

interesting hotel you stayed in! colours of the sky in your hot air balloon pictures look so pretty!

Nice collections and moments!

Tks man! Glad you liked them :)

Hey tks for yr appreciation! The thing is I don't like ppl when shooting landscapes, but really too many tourists and I didn't have the luxury of time to take multiple shots to blend them out. Even if I did, post-processing for all of them would be a chore. So no choice have to incorporate them into my frame.

If you noticed, only at Pamukkale did I try to blend the crowds out.

Hi Sis, glad you liked them. Sky was certainly pinkish early that morning only pity was too cloudy.
The hotel is certainly unique and unexpected to what I had in mind before the trip :)

As the day grew brighter and we had just finished popping champagne to end our balloon flight..

Made our way to the Goreme Open Air Museum and Underground City of Kaymakli. Took a snap of this majestic mountain along the way.

At the Goreme Open Air Museum (UNESCO site), the rock-cut churches are the main draw here. with well-preservered frescoes. Got warned a few times not to take photos of the interiors. Didn't stayed too long as the caves are similar and nothing much to see.
