hi. i done my research on nikon afd 80-200 f2.8 ed. can someone please explain more on this lens. how will it works with D90?

thks

Mount onto your D90, turn the zoom ring to your desired focal range, press half shutter button and hold to autofocus your subject, compose your picture, then fully press your shutter button to take picture. Viola, this is how it works with D90 with autofocus mode.

couldn't have explain it better. hahaha...

TS, suggest you do more research on what you exactly want to avoid disappointment... 80-200... i don't think you can get one below 1k 2nd hand, if there's one, let me know. :)

Just in case, 80-200mm i believe is not compatible with nikon TC, but kenko will.

Sure you can. 80-200/2.8d push pull is around 750-850. Two touch is around 900-1k for a more used one.

Push to zoom, pull to get wide. Or the other way rd ;p not sure

You will miss VR. Get the 55-300VR instead (costs $470 new and about $350 used). Much more light weight than 80-200. Image quality not bad too.

The nikon 80-200s are some of nikkor best lenses.. Try at least a push pull afd 80-200. Trust me this lens alone will make the rest of nikkor common zoom lenses to shame..

Sure it is afd version or af only? But still a dame good buy much better then any zoom lenses out there xx-200mm f3.5-5.6 or xx-300mm ;)

You have to make sure it is the "D" version. The AF version is slightly slower, and does not the chip to send distance information back to the camera, making it unreliable for TTL flash. Even non-D versions should be priced around 600-750.

450 is a good deal if the lens is in good condition. well, some of these lenses are really abused, so price varies also.

I'm not really sure, i just saw the price only :p. Yeah considering the constant aperture + zoom, good deal. Too bad i can't find it though, quite long ago.

Any review on Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD Lens

Bro, just to share, actually I have come across a 1st version "non-D" design and to my surprise, that particular one that I had for a few weeks has plate name indicating AF(no "D") but exif gives distance info. I think there are actually 2 version of the non-D. Probably the one I was holding was the later batch. I'm not sure, just something I come across. Most findings say there are only non-D and AF-D version, but this non-D that I saw actually has distance info and flash correctly.

Not wanting to spend on the 70-200. the AF80-200 2.8D is very much a good enough lens (less the faster focusing and range of the 70-200). I never regretted getting the 80-200 till now. Always amazes me.
