it's no doubt that it's a red card offence.

i think the argument here is whether any of the official(s) actually saw the event, or did they rely on the recording, and if they did, is that allowed. apparently it's not.

well, instead of talking so much here, anyone got links to articles regarding this? i'm sure this is the debated topic around the world now?

After the assistant referee informed referee Horacio Elizondo of the incident, the Argentine was left with no choice but to send Zidane off.

Apparently (3rd last paragraph)

And also Here
Confusion reigned as Materazzi lay prone, but the referee's assistant saw the assault and to the disbelief of all inside Berlin's Olympic Stadium, Zidane was shown the red card.

What the hell lah Zidane!!! Quite dissapointed to him loh~~~. No matter what, he is a captain and going to retire, why not leave a good memory to all his fans?! A gentleman image of him spoilt right after his heading kung fu learned from the China Shao Ling Si. :(

I've read that ZZ actually has a background in martial arts.

zz gives new meaning to the phrase 'giving head'.... :bsmilie:

i was asking my sch teacher about his thoughts on zizou today and he said, Zidane = 鸡蛋

on a lighter note, ZZ should have whacked the hell out of materrazi, then both teams will be one player down...;p;p

He must have been provoked but I'm not to say. Din hear what happened. ONly saw the incident.

The King got "Kung Fu Kick" and ZZ got "Tie Tuo Gong" .... :bsmilie:

Sad to see ZZ go in such a manner. , :bheart:

Not all Italians are dirty players. Some are clean but Marco Materazzi is really the dirtest player in the Italian squad. The blow and reaction to it was true but before that, I think something is going on and during the whole match.
