Wow Jon very nice series there. I noticed that these were shot on film using the Zm35 f1.4 on a zeiss ikon. Very beautiful film shot. Do you think this lens is worth the $ to be shot on film or do you think it would excel better on a digital sensor?

Thanks! I can certainly see the quality of the ZM Distagon 35/1.4 coming through in my film shots compared with other 35mm lenses I've used, so I don't think this lens is wasted on film. But I think a quality scanner is essential for extracting all the information it's capable of recording on the film. In my case, I use a Nikon Coolscan 5000.
I did compare this lens with my Summilux 35mm FLE on film and was blown away at how good this new offering from Zeiss is, especially at f1.4. That said, I expect the quality difference compared with other 35mm lenses would be even more obvious on a digital body.
Thanks Jon for the feedback. One more for consideration would be the new voigtlander 35 f1.7. Seems to be big value for money compared to the zm 35 f1.4. At least Mr Steve Huff said so...Hahaa
